During my research study at the Indiana Fever Women's Basketball team, I worked alongside my fellow peers to create a single-player metric system to score the players on their skills. We utulize K-Means algorithms (Using SQL and Pandas), and later would adopt sorting mechanisms and BIRCH. Our metric system was able to score all leagues with some minor changes.
This study not only created a prototype position mapping algorithm currently being worked on to use within games, but also predicted 2 others things: the top NCAA women athletes that should be drafted, and the MVPS of the following seasons. Both were correct.
